| Description | Mostly photographs of retreatants and various clergyman (including the director, Fr George Pollen SJ) outside the main entrance to the Hall. These groups were likely taking part in the retreats aimed at working men in north-west England, which were the first retreats offered when the institution opened in 1923. Most photographs include the dates they were taken.
