Description
This file contains part of Fr Baines' history of Spinkhill; transcripts from the Mount St Mary's Archives, Spinkhill parish registers and Stonyhurst Archives; notes on the English Province in the 17th century, George Foljambe of Barlborough, the Wakebridge family seat, the Bloodless Persecution of 1700, the aftermath of the Oates Plot, Bishop Baines, West Hallam, the Sodality Chapel at Spinkhill, the Jesuits in Nottingham, Parkhill, and various branches of the Pole family; transcript of the Will and Declarations of Trust of John Pole of Spinkhill, and an extract from Foley's notes on the history of the Spinkhill Estate in Spinkhill Papers.
According to his obituary in Letters & Notices (vol 65 pp44-53), Baines carried out his historical research while at Yately Hall. This work is therefore likely to date to that period.
