DescriptionFour notebooks of Fr Birch's writings, mostly from his his time as a novice.
Admin_HistoryRichard Birch was born in Great Harwood, near Blackburn, 9 June 1920. He was educated at the Preston Catholic College and entered the novitiate at Roehampton 7 September 1938. Birch spent five years teaching as a scholastic as Corby School, Sunderland, and then at St Francis Xavier's, Liverpool. In 1951 he was ordained priest and then went on to teach at his former school, the Catholic College in Pretson, for about twenty years. He retired to Stonyhurst and died on the 28th October 1981.
