Description	Financial documentation for the estate of Mrs. Henrietta Challis, c.1885-6; Note on paper listing the confines of a geographical area, possibly Brixton parish, undated; This series of letters includes correspondence with the Military Prison Department regarding Brixton Military Prison, regarding duties, supply, number of Roman Catholic prisoners and remuneration of the priest accordingly, c.1892. 1889 correspondence granting approval from the Secretary of State for War for Fr Henry Van Doorne to be appointed to the role; as of 1889, Michael Cuffe was carrying out the role; discussion of prisoners requiring confirmation and/or Confession. Letters from Fr Connelly and Bishop Butt in 1892 frame the conversation resulting in the Military Prison Department advising in October 1892 that RC prisoners were being accommodated elsewhere, thus a priest was no longer required to serve at the prison; conversation within the Diocese between clergy regarding the role of priest in the prison. 1915 correspondence from C. Turner suggesting that Mr. Hayes had not attended Committee meetings at the prison for some time, and proposing a person to replace him - Mr. McCarthy; 1932 correspondence regarding the health and availability of Fr G. Quin - dealings now with the Prisons Commission at the Home Office.
