Description | In the early 20th century, a former Marist Brother by the name of Brother Ansgar made several claims about life in the order. He went on a lecture tour of Britain, claiming that many of the Brothers were drunks and that the Brothers were forced to live in terrible living conditions. He was supported by the Protestant Alliance newspaper. Material includes copies of the Protestant Alliance 1910s - 1920s; letters between Brothers and supporters; published responses by the Marist Brothers; postcards of Brother Ansgar. |
