Description	Correspondence with A F C Beales regarding the Joint Pastoral Letter on the Social Question and publicity for it, including contacting overseas media to publicise the Joint Pastoral. The correspondence also includes a major disagreement with James Walsh, editor of the Catholic Times. Walsh objected to the fact that Beales had submitted his draft version of the Joint Pastoral to the Archbishop of Birmingham, who subsequently incorporated parts of Beales' text into the final version of the Letter. The file includes a proposal and preparations by Beales to hold three Public Meetings on the Joint Pastoral in September 1942.
