DescriptionThe Press Committee for the Westminster Catholic Federation was formed in 1930 to stimulate interest in Catholic newspapers and to lobby against publications deemed inimical to the Catholic faith. The newly-formed Committee circulated a letter in February 1930 to various Catholic organisations and parishes asking what faciilties existed locally for the sale of Catholic newspapers, and whether 'The God who didn't laugh' by Gleb. Botkin and 'A Story Teller's Holiday' by George Moore were available in local public libraries. Correspondents include The Cathoilc Women's League, the Knights of St Columba, and the Willesden Green Catholic Association. The file includes a list of Kinghts of St Columba in the Diocese of Westminster, with names, addresses and the parish they belonged to. There is also a letter regarding the Westminster Catholic Federation Dinner and Dance, 1929.
