Black and white image of Cardinal Bourne seated on a platform behind the foundation stone of the Knights of Columbus Club for American soldiers and sailors.. The title caption on the obverse side of the image reads 'The foundation stone of the Knights of Columbus Club for American soldiers and sailors was laid by His Eminence Cardinal Bourne, on Saturday, July 6th, 1918: British Committee, K. of C. Monsignor Barnes, J.W. MacBride, Esp., Lieut. John Duggan, N.Z.F.A.' A clergy member can be seen standing directly behind the Cardinal, bearing a ceremonial cross while men in military uniform are visible to the left of the image.
