Cathedral Life: Past and Present- 'Cardinal Wiseman's Tomb' by Dr Roderick O'Donnell. An appraisal of Cardinal Wiseman's tomb by architectural historian Dr Roderick O'Donnell. The tomb is located in the Cathedral Crypt directly under the high altar where Wiseman was reburied in 1907. The tomb and sculpture were designed by architect E.W, Pugin while the sculptor was R L Boulton.
'St Therese of Lisieux: From Mosaic to Bronze' by Patrick Rogers. An article about the mosaic of St Therese of Lisieux which was designed by John Fenning and constructed by the firm Fennings of Hammersmith for the Cathedral. Work started in 1949 and was completed in March 1950. The article is also about the creation of a bronze low relief wall panel also depicting St Therese of Lisieux. The panel was created by Italian sculptor Giacomo Manzu and was also commissioned for the Cathedral.
Cathedral History: A Photographic Record - 'The Roof in Wartime, September 1940' A short article about how the Cathedral roof was used during the Second World War. The article is accompanied by a black and white photograph depicting two Cathedral Chaplains lighting up cigarettes after a spell of roof spotting which was part of a series of air-raid precautions which were introduced at the Cathedral in 1939.
