'Cardinal Griffin lights the candle of Our Lady of the Taper' by Paul Tobin. A short article and a black and white image relating to the Low Sunday celebrations which fell on 8 April 1956 during which, Cardinal Griffin presided at two Masses in the Cathedral. Before the commencement of the 10.30am Mass, the Cardinal blessed the newly-commissioned statue of Our Lady of the Taper for Cardigan,Wales. The image depicts Griffin placing the lit taper into Our Lady's hand.
