DescriptionThe Westminster Diocesan Education Fund was founded in 1866 for the provision and managament of Reformatory, Industrial, Poor Law and Special Schools in the Dioceses of Westminster and Brentwood, and to watch over the spiritual and temporal interests of children and youths of both sexes.

The following Schools were owned and managed by the Fund:

The Manor House "Special" School for Boys (Ophthalmia), Chigwell
Nazareth House Industrial School for Girls, Isleworth
Nazareth House School for Boys, Southend
Pield Heath House "Special" School for Feeble-minded Boys and Girls, Hillingdon
Sacred Heart Orphanage for Girls, Homerton
St Anne's "Special" School for Girls (Ophthalmia), Portobello Road, North Kensington
St Charles' School for Boys, Brentwood
St Edward's School for Girls, Totteridge
St Elizabeth's "Special" School for Epileptic Boys and Girls, Much Hadham
St John's, Chigwell
St John's Reformatory School for Boys, Walthamstow
St Joseph's, Southall
St Joseph's School for Girls, Brook Green
St Mary's Orphanage for Girls, Walthamstow
St Mary's School for Boys, North Hyde, Southall
