| Description | Documents relating to an investigation, carried out under the Instruction of the Sacred Congregation of the Sacraments, into a break-in and theft at the church of St Michael and St Martin, Hounslow on the night of 21/22 March 1954. The tabernacles of the High Altar and Lady Alter were damaged, and the lunette containing the Benediction Host was stolen. The file largely comprises the transcripts of interviews carried out by the Very Revererend Chancellor, Mgr Edward G Dunderdale, with Canon Wilfrid F Musgrave, parish priest of Hounslow, and Fr Samuel J Steer, assistant priest at Hounslow, as well as a summary report of what happened by Mgr Dunderdale. |
