DescriptionA history of the parish, including a detailed description of the church's Methodist origins from 1864 until the 1960s, when the Catholic church in Fortess Road swapped premises with the Methodist church in Lady Margaret Road. It was finally consecrated as a Catholic church by Cardinal Basil Hume in 1979.

The booklet includes a black and white photograph of the church of Our Lady Help of Christians, a photograph of Cardinal Basil Hume to accompany his introduction to the booklet, a photograph of Fr George Stack to accompany his preface to the booklet, and a photograph of Fr Bernard Ferry DD, the parish priest who was responsible for the proposal and planning for the exchange of the Fortress Road church. The booklet ends with a tribute to the Blessed Marie Therese de Soubiron, foundress of the Marie Anxiliatrix Sisters who fled the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 and settled in a house opposite the church of Our Lady, Help of Christians, in Fortress Road.
