DescriptionTwo copies of a brief history of the parish of Holy Apostles, Pimlico by the parish priest, Rev E M Hadfield, who was first appointed to the church in August 1939. This includes Fr Hadfield's accounts of the blackout and bombing raids, and his work at the Dolphin Square Ambulance Station assisted by Fr John Coughlan. He also describes the destruction of the church in a bombing raid on the night of 16 April 1941 and the loss of the presbyterty in the bombing raid of 10th May 1941. The history of the parish describes the temporary arrangements for Mass, the requisition of the orginal church site in Claverton Street as part of the Churchill Gardens Estate project, and the construction of a new church in Winchester Street. Fr Hadfield also describes the introduction of planned giving in the parish, suggested to him by theArchbishop of Tasmania, Guildford Young. 20pp
