The booklet was written at a time when Strawberry Hill House was undergoing restoration work. It describes the history of the house and its environs when Horace Walpole first acquired the property, the restoration work carried out by its subsequent owner in the 1850s-1860s, Frances Lady Waldegrave, and the history of St Mary's College, which bought Strawbery Hill House in the 1920s. There are plans of the ground and first floors of the house, and a description of each room, as well as details about bomb damage suffered during the Second World War.
