Description	Colour photograph of the interior of the church of The Immaculate Conception & St Joseph, Hertford, taken during a service, looking towards the High Altar. The photograph may show the parish priest, Fr George Swanton (?) standing in front of the altar, while Cardinal John Heenan, wearing an amaranth zuchetto, stands to the left along with other members of the clergy. It is possible that the occasion was to commemorate the 1,300 anniversary of the first National Synod, held at Hertford in 672. The church is shown plainly decorated prior to a restoration of its original 19th century colour scheme in the 1990s. 21.5cm x 16.2cm
