Description
The file contains a letter (dated 14 October 1908 written by a professional scribe on A3 paper), from parishioners Mrs Lucie S Foster and Miss Ada L Jackson to the Archbishop of Westminster [Cardinal Bourne]. The letter outlines various areas of concern about the administration of parish affairs and the conduct of the Augustinians of the Assumption running the parish. A second letter, written in 1967 by parishioner J (Jann?) Seddon to Bishop B C Butler, relates to a tape recording made of a talk on Vatican II given by Bishop Butler at Hitchin on 7 November 1967. The correspondent requests Bishop Butler to read an enclosed transcript of the recording which he/she wishes to circulate to the parish with his approval.
