Description
Two copies of an open letter by John Sergeant (?) addressed to the 'H[onoure]d B[rethre]n'. The letter, written in English, is entitled 'Testis iniquus deridet Judicium, & Os Impiorum devorat Iniquitatem, parata sunt Derisoribus Judicta & Mallei percutientes Stultorum Corpora. Prov. 19.28.29. - Quid rides marratur Fabula de te?'
(Translation: The unjust witness laughs at judgment, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity; Judgments are prepared for scorners, and hammers strike the bodies of fools. Proverbs 19.28.29. What story do you laugh at?
Both copies of the letter appear to be incomplete, with the last pages missing.
