A summary of the controversy over the proposed Oath to be incorporated into the Bill for the Relief of Catholics to be submitted to Parliament, written by John Milner (later Bishop of Castabala and vicar-apostolic of the western district of England) while serving as priest in Winchester. Milner lobbied the political establishment in favour of the Vicars Apostolic who opposed the arguments of the Catholic Committee over the issue. |
