Description
72 paged anonymous manuscript, transcribed in September, 1828. The flyleaf is inscribed: "Revd Mother New Hall Septm. 1828." The original document, however, seems to have been written in 1823 because the preface mentions that the suppression took place 50 years ago. The preface also mentions that this account was prepared thirty years earlier (1793) by men personally involved, with the aid of a German volume with the title Important Information cerning the Society of Jesus in Alba Russia (Leipzig, 1793) and Apologiae pro Societate Iesu in Alba Russia (Amsterdam [vere Italy, perhaps Rome], 1793).
