Description
A large file of legal documentation and correspondence regarding purchasing of land adjacent to Loyola Hall from the Stapleton-Bretherton estate 1934-1935. There were concerns that if this land was not purchased, housing development would take place and interfere with the peaceful atmosphere of the Hall. Also includes drawings and plans of the suggested land purchases that correspond with the letters.
Correspondents include Fr Edward Rockliff SJ (Director 1933-1940), Major Stapleton-Bretherton (former owner of Loyola Hall), Mr D.H. Hartley (Stapleton-Bretherton's agent), Mr Howard, and Fr Michael Keane SJ.
