Description
The volume primarily contains correspondence concerned with building and repair work undertaken on Farm Street Church and Mount Street properties, and legal and financial issues related to the Farm Street and Mount Street properties. Other forms of documents contained in this volume include sketches, plans, accounts and reports. The volume contains material related to: - repairs undertaken on Farm Street Church - the purchase of new fittings and equipment for Farm Street Church - the disputes with the Vestry of St George's Church, Hanover Square, over access rights, the old burial ground, the legal boundary of the Farm Street property and changes and improvements made there - the administration of the purchase of the Farm Street freehold from the Berkeley Estate including solicitors letters, land valuations, negotiations over price and conditions of purchase, mortgage negotiations, private donations by parishioners and supporters, surveyors reports and conveyancing documents. The volume concludes with documents relating to further repair work undertaken at Farm Street Church, the construction and furnishing of the Lourdes Chapel and the dispute with the firm Goldie, Child and Goldie over the Lourdes Chapel Altar.
