DescriptionFile entitled 'Farm St Church - Letters concerning Catholic Stage Guild and Interval Club'. The Interval Club was established by Mrs Balvaird Hewett initially as part of the Guild but eventually becoming a separate enterprise. The Guild was confined to Catholics and worked like a Sodality; it arranged retreats and conferences, masses for deceased members and for the intentions of living members. It kept members in town and on tour in touch with the Church and with fellow Catholics by means of priests and lay associates. The club was open to non-Catholics. Provincial priests and associates could meet members of the profession who would then have friends in various towns when on tour. Includes correspondence between Fr Francis Devas SJ and Mrs Balvaird Hewett and her daughter Molly Balvaird Hewett, an extract from 'The Universe', meeting agendas, Club Rules and a retreat itinerary.
Related MaterialInformation about the Interval Club can be found in the Farm Street Calendar, March 1950 pp5-6.
