Admin_History | Fr Arnold Warneken SJ was born in South Kensington, 24 September 1903 and was educated at Stonyhurst College in Lancashire. The eldest of four siblings, Arnold came to the Novitiate at Manresa House in September 1922.
Following his Juniorate he was sent to regency at Hodder for three years before philosophy. After this he went straight to Theology and was ordained in 1935. After Tertianship at St Beuno’s he went to serve at the Sacred Heart Church, Edinburgh, where he would remain for twenty years (1937 – 1957). After a year at St Gabriel’s Hospital, Harborne, Birmingham, giving retreats, he was posted to the Sacred Heart, Wimbledon from 1958 to 1968. Following this, he went on to be stationed at St. Aloysius’s Parish in Oxford.
He died 4 July 1981 in Oxford shortly after returning from a trip to Australia. |
