Administrative correspondence of Fr Gallagher's appointment and the approval of such from His Grace, 1971, with Fr Reid, curate, to move to Fr Koch (addressed). The correspondence involves Fr Adolf Koch and Mgr. Henderson; 1970 letter to Fr Koch from the Archbishop about complaints made by parishioners about Fr Koch's alleged 'unkindness', with Fr Koch informed that a Visitation Report is a confidential document between the Archbishop and the Parish Priest (and his successors), and should not be disclosed to the public, and that when a complaint has been made, that this should not be expressed to the people, nor should others write to the Archbishop on his behalf; 08.10.1970 letter explaining the prohibition on Catholics being Freemasons, and response to a query about dispensations for mixed marriage, in response to a 04.10.1970 letter about a lapsed parishioner who is a Mason and wishes to return to the Church. 06.01.1969 letter from Fr Koch regarding Unity Sunday, His Grace visiting the 'local C of E Church' and the Vicar visiting 'here' for a short Bible Service, finishing with Benediction - both to be vested in cassock only; the response on 07.01.1969 stipulates that Koch's address may not be 'part of their Eucharistic service', and that 'in principle, His Grace is not in favour of non-Catholic ministers preaching in our Churches'; 15.12.1968 written complaint from a parishioner about Fr Koch, with a follow-up letter of 22.12.1968 to clarify several points; 22.09.1968 letter regarding a Retreat Preacher, sent by Adolf Koch; response of 24.09.1968 suggests that His Grace would prefer that 'a Priest of the Diocese' should preach the Day of Retreat, not one who exercises their office outside of the diocese; three letters of December 1966 relating to permissions for and queries about various things, including Mass and the attendance of parishioners and Fr Koch at a Carol Service at the local C of E Church; 1963 correspondence involving the Church of England Holy Trinity Church in the Avery Hill Estate, Eltham to be used as a Sunday morning Mass Centre, with mention of Dr. Stockwood and Mr. Nigel Eva, the Vicar; further letters from 1959-1960 concern permissions and faculties for masses and start times for vigils; mention of the Men's Sodality in a letter of 1959, where Fr John Shea is coming at Fr Bassett's request; a letter of 1952 requesting civil divorce; a letter concerning the conflicting desires of a mother and daughter regarding the daughter's faith and wish to be received into the Church, 1951; 1951 discussion of an impending wedding as regards parishes, mentioning Sidcup; letters from Fr Koch to Fr Reynolds in 1951 enclosing Visitation forms and providing directions; 1950 letter regarding a lady's use of her maiden name; request in 1949 to affiliate the church to the Confraternity of the Rosary; 24.02.1947 mention in a letter of a separate letter from Mgr. Banfi to Fr Nevatt of 02.09.1937 granting permission to erect the Stations of the Cross in the Blackfen Church, relics without authentication document given by a parishioner, and a small offering (enclosed to Your Grace); letter of 11.02.1946 to Fr Cowderoy in thanks for allowing Reservation and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at Ashtead during Retreats, etc., which allows for Coulsdon and Clapton to proceed with their plans; 07.02.1946 letter to Fr Cowderoy regarding a proposed weekend Retreat desired by 'one or two priests'; 17.08.1945 letter announcing Adolf Koch's arrival at Blackfen; two letters of 1937 announcing the commencement of Blackfen Church construction, and gratitude expressed to Lord Bishop for having chosen 'Our Lady of the Rosary', from C. J. Nevatt; several letters of the same year set out intentions for opening the church, and for Mass.
