Description
These original files were stored and have been listed alphabetically, except wor a couple of files which were found out of order and have been listed at the end.
Files range greatly in terms of size, some files containing one document and others are a complete record.
The files typically contain documents covering a student's application and acceptance to the Seminary (including Selection Advisory Conference if post 1970); a summary of personal information known as a "personal history log" (see below); psychological and safeuarding documents; general correspondence; paperwork covering application for Lectorate, Acolytate, Candidacy, Diaconate and Priesthood
Post 2000, student files have been returned to the relevant diocese, but a summary sheet known as a 'personal history log' has been retained. The log records name, date and place of birth, marital status, address, details of parents and siblings, next of kin, education and employment history, details of baptism, reception into the Catholic Church, previous training for the priesthood, details of Ministries and Orders recieved at the Seminary [usually not completed, details of Spritual Direction, interests, health.
Note: There is not a file for every student. Some pre-2000 files may have been returned to the diocese on request.
Note: The date given is the date of the student's entry to the seminary, not the covering dates of the documents.
