Description
Paper records relating to religious broadcasting, in particular the International Catholic Association for Radio and Television (UNDA) and the Catholic Radio and Television Centre, Hatch End, Middlesex. Includes correspondence, policy documents, reports and publications.
The series also includes documents relating to the Communications Course offered at the seminary from 1975, which was based around a purpose built Communications Studio. The course aimed to equip students with the skills needed to use radio and television to communicate the gospel effectively.
Much of this material originates from Fr. John Stapleton, who was instrumental in setting up the Communications Course and Studio. Fr. Stapleton was Head of the Communications Department until 1982. See SJW/P/10 for Fr. Stapleton's personal papers.
See also SJW/AV for related audio-visual material.
