| Description | Father John Watson entered the seminary as a junior in September 1922. He was ordained a priest for Brentwood diocese on 23 July 1933. His first appointment was at Walthamstow. During World War II he was posted in Burma and Singapore. Following the war, in January 1946, he was appointed Parish Priest of Benfleet and Canvey.
