Description | Put together in house by Fr. James Walters, a professor in the junior house (Walters was the son of Frederick Walters, the architect of the seminary, and later parish priest of Anerley). The Wonersh Mail was 'An Unofficial Chronicle of all that Wonersh did while her doughty sons were absent from her on military service' during World War I. It was sent to the students 'called up'. It also included seminary news; news of those fighting. The magazine included humorous illustrations by Fr Alexis Hauber, then procurator, later Parish Priest of Guildford. Fr. Walters includes further details of the history of this publication at the beginning of the volume catalogued as SJW/PUB/3/2/1, and in the 'The Wonersh Magazine', May 1934 (SJW/PUB/3/1/3). |
