Description
Records relating to the seminary's associations for former students.
The St John's Association was founded in 1899, eight years after the opening of the Seminary. Its purpose is to gather past students to celebrate their time at Wonersh.
The Wonersh Association had its inaugural meeting in 1972 and included alumni from both St John's Seminary and the junior seminary at Mark Cross. It was originally established for those who left without being ordained. Later, to recognise its status and give it some pastoral support, priests also joined.
Over time, the two associations became one.
There had previously been a separate society for alumni of Mark Cross.
