Description
General Conferences are described in the Marist Constitutions as a consultative assembly that aims to improve the sense of community across the Institute and to address areas of general concern. The first General Conference took place in 1961 and was initiated by Brother Charles Raphael, Superior General at the time. The General Conferences take place inbetween General Chapters and often look at policies or practices created from Chapters in order to evaluate their progress and success. General Conferences are sometimes called Assemblies. Contains: General Conference 1982; General Conference 1997; General Conference 2005; General Conference 2013
