Description	This photograph, taken in Rome, shows a young Canon James Barry in formal pose, his left hand resting on a tall table next to a vase of flowers; Canon Barry was born at Cardiff on 18th August 1877 and was ordained priest in Oban on 15th August 1901; he died in Glencoe on 16th February 1926, aged only 47; full details of Canon Barry's life can be found in his obituary on pp 300 to 301 of The Catholic Directory for 1927.
