Admin_History | The aim of the CSC was to provide a national forum for Catholic students and chaplains, and to build links with other Catholic societies. Its main activities over the years included hosting conferences and events on social and theological issues; building links with other international Catholic bodies, notably the Interfederal Assembly of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS); and disseminating information through publications. The organisation was primarily run on a voluntary basis until the appointment of a National Co-ordinator in 1984. In 1989, the Catholic Student Council was awarded charitable status and the Catholic Students' Trust was formed, acting primarily as a fundraising body throughout the 1990s. By 2001, the organisation had run into financial difficulties and it was disbanded the following year. |
