Bishop Shanahan Secondary School/College The Marist Brothers took control of the school in January 1950. Brothers Cormac and Conleath were sent over from Britain and Ireland in December 1949 after arrangements made by the Brothers, the Bishop of Owerri and Father Donoghue. The school was sometimes referred to as Bishop Shanahan Secondary School.
