  <dc:title>Dundee communities</dc:title>
<dc:description>The Brothers arrived in Dundee in August 1860 at the invitation of French-born local merchant Charles Thiebault. Thiebault orchestrated agreements between himself, the Marist Brothers and local clergy in Dundee. In return for purchasing and furnishing the Brothers with a home, the local clergy would give the Brothers spaces in which the Brothers could provide Roman Catholic education to local children. Consequently, the Brothers formed a Trust which stated its purpose as providing Roman Catholic education in Dundee. Contains: General papers relating to Marist Brothers in Dundee; William Street; Forebank House; St Mary's Primary School; St Andrew's Boys' School; St Stephen's School; St Joseph's Boys' School; St John's Roman Catholic Boys' School</dc:description>
