Fr Joseph Taylor was born in 1905 and was educated at St Ignatius' College, Stamford Hill. He taught as a scholastic in St Aloysius' College, Birchiracara, Malta (1931-1933). He taught at Wimbledon for a year, and at Corby School, Sunderland (1939-1943). After that he moved to the parish of Richmond, Yorkshire until 1947 when to returned to Stamford Hill for a year. From 1948-1956 he was at St Mary's-on-the-Quay, Bristol, followed by three years at the Sacred Heart, Accrington and two a St Wilfrid's, Preston. After spending some time at St Beuno's, he moved to St Francis Xavier's Liverpool until 1977 when most of the parish staff were disbanded. He spent the last year of life back in Stamford Hill. His main interest was photography. Member of the English Province of the Society of Jesus.
