He made his humanity studies at Stonyhurst College, and entered the English Province of the Society of Jesus 7 September 1823. After his higher studies at St Acheul (France) and Stonyhurst Colleges, and performing the duties of Prefect and Master, and studying his theology, he was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest at Stonyhurst, by Bishop Thomas Penswick, 20 December 1834. Next he became missioner at Gilmoss, until January 1841. On 15 August 1841 he was made Spiritual Coadjutor, and served the Lydiate mission until 6 December 1842, when he was declared Rector of Mount St Mary’s College. He left his post at Mount St Mary’s some time after, and then served the missions of Preston, Irnham, Lincoln, and Market Rasen for brief periods. He was also Socius to the Provincial. In November 1848, he was appointed Minister and Procurator of St Beuno’s College, near St Asaph, which he left 16 February 1850. Again served the mission of Market Rasen until 1859, and left for Tunbridge Wells, which he served until January 1867, when the mission was ceded to the Bishop of the diocese.  Finally he became missioner at Wardour Castle, however his health soon declined, and he was sent to Blackpool, where he died 2 April or September 1870. </Nationality>
