Between 1965 and 1968 he was mainly in Oslo, Norway, writing and working in a parish. Writing was to be his main apostolate for the remainder of his life and this he combined with pastoral work at various places: Professor of Church History at St Edmund’s College, Ware (1968-71); Trellis House, Tisbury (1972-75); Trondheim, Norway, studying Norwegian and at St Olav’s Kirke, Tonsberg, where he was parish priest (1976-79). In 1979 he returned to the UK and was on the staff of St Patrick’s, Wapping, London, until he moved to Southwell House, London, 1981. His las appointment was in 1986 as Parish Priest at St Stanislaus Parish, Dulverton, Somerset. During his time there his health caused continuing concern and in early 1998 he was moved to a nursing home in nearby Brushford, where he died, 6 May.</Nationality>
