After studying at St Stanislaus’ College, he entered the Society at Manresa House, Roehampton in 1933. Leslie was a member of the S.V.P and attended parties for the poor. In 1940, Leslie began nine years at St Beuno’s, moving from there to Harborne in 1949, where he spent eight years as a cook. In 1957, he went to Craighead, which he enjoyed despite being there for only a year. Leslie then returned to Guyana and for the next twenty six years lived at Brickdam, where he worked as an infirmarian, and then for fifteen years as a minister. In 1978, Leslie went to London for medical treatment, as well as Campion House, Osterley, returning to Guyana in 1979. In the last years of his life, Leslie suffered from arthritis and epilepsy.
In Guyana, Leslie was in charge of the Catholic bookshop, and also spent time selling pieties, which he obtained mostly from England. Leslie also taught catechism to children in non-Catholic schools. Later he became Guest Master and took care of the garden at Brickdam.
Leslie died on 28th February 1984 and his funeral was celebrated at Brickdam Cathedral the next afternoon.</Nationality>
