Entered the English Province of the Society of Jesus 7 September 1901. Ordained as a Roman Catholic priest 20 September 1914. Final vows in the Society of Jesus 2 February 1920. Died 5 December 1975 Kiln Green Nursing Home.

Paul had been educated at Wimbledon and Stonyhurst. Following his ordination in 1914, he became a military chaplain in 1916 and went out to France. He was demobilised in 1919 and was made First Prefect at the Mount until 1925. He was the House Minister at Maryfield, which was followed by the same position at Craighead. Following a heart attack, he went to Stonyhurst and then went to St Aloysius, Oxford, in October 1929 and remained there until 1970. Whilst at St Aloysius, he was Prison Chaplain, chaplain to Cherwell Edge Convent and curate at St Aloysius. He helped to establish Rye St Anthony's Girls Grammar School with Miss Rendall and Miss King, and Paul was the school chaplain. In 1970, having had a fall he moved to Kiln Green Nursing Home and was cared for by the Sisters of Pity until his death in 1975.
